In my role, I designed both low and medium-fidelity interfaces for the software engineers and project managers to review, comment on, and implement. I also worked closely with marketing and user documentation (content writers) to ensure consistency between user-facing text and guide documents on the web and Help systems as well as within the interfaces where users would see it.
Some of the tools I used to make interface designs, workflow sequences, and user scenarios were Visio (workflow diagrams), Balsamiq (low fidelity mockups) and Axure (medium-high fidelity mockups). I also used Morae software for usability testing research and the Microsoft Office suite of tools for typical spreadsheets and presentations to others.
